Cameo opens door to Agilitas staff as it buys customer base from administration

MD Luke Walker says Cameo can offer continuity of service to Agilitas’ channel partners

Cameo’s door is open to Agilitas staff, its MD has stressed as he confirmed it has acquired the fallen channel services firm’s entire contract base.

Agilitas yesterday formally laid 72 of its 80 employees as it appointed Alvarez and Marsal as administrators (see statement, bottom).

This follows reports that the Perwyn-backed outfit filed a notice of intention (NOI) to appoint an administrator last Wednesday.

“That’s where Cameo is strong”

Talking to IT Channel Oxygen, Cameo MD Luke Walker and Commercial Director Rob Darby said the asset purchase will ensure continuity of service for Agilitas’ channel partners and their end customers.

Unlike Agilitas, Cameo has its own engineering workforce. It sees its in-house services model as one of its biggest differentiators.

“What this brings to Agilitas’ customer base is that it’s all now delivered by one party,” Darby said.

“Agilitas were very strong from a logistics and sparing point of view, but they didn’t have their own directly employed field engineers to provide the engineering piece on the customer sites. Whereas that’s Cameo’s strength.”

“We can deliver an end-to-end service – that’s our point of difference,” Walker added.

“Firmly in the growth stage”

Although its asset purchase does not encompass any staff, Cameo is looking to expand its 140-strong workforce in the wake of the deal, Walker said.

“Staff weren’t included as part of the transaction; however Cameo is firmly in the growth stage, especially with the amount of customers and contracts [this adds],” he said.

“We would therefore welcome anybody with relevant skills to apply for the vacancies we will have upcoming.”

Walker said the opportunity to buy Agilitas’ assets was first presented to him last Thursday.

“It happened quickly,” he said.

“In terms of the ongoing process, we’re working with the administrator and customers to spin up and achieve some continuity of service.”

“It’s a very sad situation – nobody wants any business to go into administration.” Darby added.

“Unfortunately it’s happened, and we’re looking to make the best out of a situation that very few people had control over.”

In a statement to IT Channel Oxygen, Agilitas CEO Sara Wilkes said: “Our priority was to find a home for our customers with little to no disruption and Cameo committed to supporting this and was the objective of both parties.”

In a statement to IT Channel Oxygen, Alvarez & Marsal stated:

On 23 October 2025, Michael Magnay and Rob Croxen of Alvarez & Marsal Europe LLP were appointed as Joint Administrators of Agilitas IT Solutions Limited (the “Company”).

The Company is a UK-based provider of IT hardware services and lifecycle management, including hardware maintenance, professional project services, and smart logistics for inventory management.

Following our appointment, a sale of the certain assets of the Company was completed to Cameo Computer Services (UK) Ltd.

Regrettably, 72 of the company’s 80 employees were made redundant immediately upon the Company entering administration. The Administrators are supporting these employees through the process.

The Administrators are focused on achieving the best outcome for the Company’s creditors, by realising the remaining assets, in particular the stock holding of IT parts and spares. They encourage any interested parties to please get in touch.
