Microsoft partners have hailed the results of a cross-government M365 Copilot experiment, with some claiming the tool is saving their clients even more than the 26-minute daily average touted in the study.
Spearheaded by GDS, the trial involved 20,000 civil servants from 12 key government bodies.
Microsoft employees – including UK CEO Darren Hardman – were quick to seize on the headline findings as vindication of Copilot’s ability to unlock growth and efficiency.
Participants saved an average of 26 minutes daily, equating to almost two weeks annually. An adoption rate of around 80% was maintained throughout the experiment.
But the report noted that Copilot “showed limitations when dealing with complex data, especially for work requiring nuance and context”.
Human oversight was required at all times to ensure maximum benefits and reduce risks in its use, it also stressed.
But what do Microsoft partners on the front line of actually delivering Copilot and other AI tools to customers think of the study’s findings?
Do the findings echo their own experiences?
We caught up with leadership from top UK Microsoft partners ramsac, Transparity, Inform Team, Phoenix Software and Ingentive to find out.
