I think the government’s Copilot study is an important moment, not just because of the technology itself, but because of the way it was approached.

This wasn’t a theoretical pilot, it was a practical, hands-on exploration of how AI can genuinely support people in their day-to-day roles.

What we’re seeing here is not about replacing teams – it’s about releasing capacity, giving people back time to think, and allowing them to focus on work that adds value. That’s the real opportunity. It’s encouraging to see such a thoughtful, measured rollout, grounded in real data and built around the needs of users. There’s a great deal to learn from this, and I hope we see more organisations taking a similar approach.
