Acquisitive OneCom has announced its 12th acquisition since 2020.

The LDC-backed business and cloud comms specialist has gobbled Leicester-based Daly Systems in a move that will see founder Peter Daly retire to pursue his passion for motorsport.

Ranking 19th in Oxygen 250, Onecom has been on a mission to diversify beyond its roots as a mobile comms specialist.

Gamma, Microsoft, Openreach and Jola partner Daly Systems is OneCom’s second acquisition of 2024 following its lunge for £10m-revenue outfit Excalibur in March.

OneCom was recently characterised by the CEO of peer babble as one of six “horsemen” that have driven consolidation of the cloud comms market (the other five being Southern Communications, Arrow Business Communications, Wavenet, Focus Group – and Babble itself)

Hampshire-based Vodafone, Microsoft, Google, Mitel, Samsung, Apple, Gamma and Five9 partner OneCom now employs over 700 people.

Martin Flick, CEO of Onecom Group, stated: “The acquisition of Daly Systems is yet another transaction that fits perfectly into our expansion and diversification strategy.

“In addition to broadening our geographic reach across the UK, we foresee exciting cross-sell opportunities with our combined customer groups.”

Daly added: “After nearly 29 years of developing a great team of staff giving great customer service to our loyal customers, I am pleased that the future is now in the hands of Onecom.

“Both businesses share a similar culture and that helped me with the final choice. After the safe handover period I will be retiring from the business to follow my motorsport opportunities.”
