‘Every partner should be investing in hyperscaler marketplaces’ – 6 bold claims from Omdia’s big briefing

“That’s a very worrying statistic”

In his keynote, Edwards said the channel partners Omdia has surveyed are less positive about the second half of the year.

Some 65% of partners grew revenue and profitability in Q2.

But much of that was driven by upfront spending from customers eager to secure access to infrastructure and devices ahead of potential supply crunches, Edwards said.

“As we go into the second half, there are many uncertainties emerging, and actually our data shows how that’s playing out for the partners.

“53% of partners told us that the majority of their customers are cutting back or delaying IT spend in the year. That’s a very worrying statistic.”

Half of the partners Omdia surveyed in EMEA expect their revenue to decline in the second half, Edwards added.

“That’s again a very worrying statistic,” he said.
