Entering the Oxygen Awards is free and easy – at no point will we be asking entrants, finalists or winners for any money.
There are seven company and five individual categories to go in for (see here).
The winners will be unveiled in January, ahead of a free-to-attend Night of Winners, complete with champagne reception and dedicated media zone.
The main questions we’ve had since launch relate to what makes a winning entry.
Ahead of the 9 October deadline, here are our seven top tips on how to give yourself, your organisation or your chosen colleague/peer the best shot at tasting Oxygen Awards glory…
1. Ditch the corporate jargon
Whether you’re entering your organisation, yourself, or a colleague/peer, the judges want to read or watch entries that are high on content and low on waffle. So ditch the corporate jargon and tell us in plain English why your entry deserves to win.
2. Back up your entry with evidence
Backing up any claims with hard facts will always score brownie points with our judges. This could include evidence of industry recognition received, stats relating to performance, or evidence of sales or headcount growth.
3. Add testimonials
Testimonials from colleagues, partners or peers will also go down well with our panel, and can be attached separate to the entry. The more the better!
4. Written and video entries will be considered equally
To give you maximum choice, we are allowing both written and video entries. No matter which you feel most comfortable with, the judges will consider both formats on an equal footing.
5. Keep within the word/time limit
Our judges will have multiple categories to judge, so respect the 800-word and 5-minute entry limits for written and video answers.
6. Keep an eye on eligibility
The Oxygen Awards are designed to be as inclusive as possible. However, entries must be for people or organisations operating in the UK IT channel – whether this is a channel partner, distributor, vendor, or some other firm that sells services into the IT channel. The entries must also be UK-related.
7. Ask our team if you’re not sure
If you have any questions about which category to enter, the entry criteria or the awards process itself, please email our editorial team at [email protected]
