I think that UK business people with a level of influence working on initiatives like the ones described in the post is key to our collective success.

Governments and politicians are very often playing catch up with technology, and with AI the gap will only be wider.

I think there is a need for the private sector to push legislators to think forward rather than fixing problem when they happen.

Specifically on taxing agents or robots – we generally tax sales, income, returns on investments, wealth etc. I can’t think of an immediate use case where an agent will generate a tax liability. Having said that, everything should be looked into and new business models will emerge as a result of AI. So I’m glad we have think tanks already looking into it and working with governments to plan ahead.
