Hi Graham. Why have you made this acquisition now?

The timing isn’t a function of us being ready. It’s a function of us finding that group of people we think will love being part of Softcat and match our ambition.

We’ve been getting pulled into international markets by our customers as we’ve moved naturally into bigger, complex projects for larger customers.

We’ve been looking at the US market for five or six years now, and we’ve finally found the business we think matches our ethos, matches our ambition, and has a really strategically important capability set we can build out from. They have a strategy that’s very closely aligned to ours about broadening their offering, broadening their customer range and investing in people.

I first met their chief exec as he joined the business four years ago, and we’ve kept an eye on them since they started to develop their strategy and got some significant growth and momentum off it.

We got in touch with them back in around February time. We’ve been talking to them very closely since then.

Interview continues on next page…
