Which vendors are going great guns for TD Synnex?
It’s always dangerous to quote any vendors. I prefer to speak by technology.
I continue to be upbeat about PCs. Hybrid cloud continues to be a fantastic opportunity.
We’re just starting to see the benefits AI in the enterprise space. It’s very small, but we feel that customers are now beyond the proof of concept and proof of value. So we believe we’re going to start seeing some demand related to AI, in computing in particular.
Networking is back to growth – not yet in Europe – but globally. And software is a fantastic opportunity for us, especially infrastructure management software, and security continues to be very strong.
Can you tell us one thing most people won’t know about you?
I love learning and I love debate. This afternoon I’m going to spend an hour with our apprentices. One of the things I want to convey to them is, ‘guys, you have to learn all your life – if you don’t have that mindset you will be in trouble’.
Is there anything else you’d like to highlight?
Maybe Hyve. It’s the best-kept secret of TD Synnex.
The majority of our business is distribution. Then we have Hyve which is a very nice business because we are the only distributor who can serve this segment of the market. We are providing equipment to the hyperscalers based on their specs – or even by co-designing the products with them.
We grew 45% last quarter in our ODMCM activities. We have unique capabilities and relationships with the component manufacturers, who play a key role in that space, and I just wanted to call it out.
It’s a very accretive business, the operating margins are better than our distribution business, it’s high growth, and we continue to invest in and scale that business.
