9: Kubus bags investment from BGF

Kubus senior team
Kubus senior team

Revenues of acquired company: £36m

Month: October

Rationale

BGF’s £9m investment will “take Kubus to the next level”, CEO Andrew Humphrey declared in October as the deal was announced.

A minority equity investor with a strong pedigree in the UK IT channel, BGF’s current investments include IT services outfit Roc Technologies and Microsoft partner Kocho (in which it invested £10m in 2017 and £6m in 2018, respectively).

Cirencester-based high-performance networking ace Kubus rebranded from Hardware Group in 2022. The Juniper, Cisco, Dell, Fortinet and Pentera partner saw revenues slip 11% pro-rata to £36m in its year to 31 March 2024.

What happened next?

Not enough time has elapsed for a meaningful update, but Kubus said the £9m will be ploughed into targeted acquisitions, bolstering sales and marketing capabilities and operational infrastructure, and exploring new market opportunities and partnerships.
