8. TSG performs MBO backed by Pictet Group

Revenues of acquired company: £40m

Month: July

Rationale

A new quartet took charge at Newcastle-based TSG in July via an MBO backed by Pictet Group.

The move saw founder and majority owner Graham Wylie, along with executive chairman David Stonehouse, step away from the nationwide managed IT and business applications specialist.

The MBO was led by CEO Rory McKeand, CFO Steven Lynn, COO Rob Jones and CCO Andy Hayward.

“The deal will allow us to drive further organic growth and seek opportunities for future strategic acquisitions,” stated McKeand.

What happened next?

TSG has been quick to splash the greens, in November announcing a “multi-million-pound acquisition” of multi-academy trust technology provider Dayta.
