Nebula steps in as demand outstrips resources on major NHS project

Nebula Global Services has helped a reseller source consultants for a major NHS contract after demand significantly outpaced available internal resource for the project.

The “leading UK reseller” bagged a large contract to support a “major” England Healthcare Trust’s Cloud Centre of Excellence.

Despite possessing the technical leadership and strategic capability necessary to lead the programme, the reseller in question lacked the available internal resource to deliver it fully.

Recruiting permanent consultants within the required timeframe would have risked delaying mobilisation, impacting project milestones and jeopardising customer commitments.

In response, Nebula rapidly sourced, validated and mobilised six specialist technical consultants who precisely matched the Healthcare Trust’s technical, security and cultural requirements.

As explored here, here, here and here, Nebula has previously opened up on how it has delivered projects for a supermarket chain, museum, a global maritime operator and a Liverpool school in partnership with its channel partners.

Pete Murphy, Nebula Global Services

“By providing scalable expertise while enabling the reseller to retain complete ownership of the customer relationship and project outcomes, we helped accelerate delivery, reduce risk and create a model,” Nebula CSO Pete Murphy said of its latest project win.

You can read the full case study here.

The Challenge

The project demanded experienced consultants with deep expertise across Microsoft Azure, AWS, Infrastructure-as-Code, DevOps and enterprise cloud governance. In addition, all resources needed active security clearance, strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to integrate seamlessly into an established customer delivery team.

While the reseller possessed the technical leadership and strategic capability to lead the programme, demand significantly outpaced available internal resource. Recruiting permanent consultants within the required timeframe risked delaying mobilisation, impacting project milestones and jeopardising customer commitments.

To maintain momentum and deliver with confidence, the reseller needed a trusted partner capable of rapidly scaling specialist technical capacity without compromising quality, governance or customer ownership.

The Solution

Nebula partnered closely with their reseller partner to understand the desired business outcomes, programme objectives and delivery requirements before recommending the most effective resourcing strategy.

Leveraging the Nebulab Verified™ Engineer Ecosystem, Nebula rapidly sourced, validated and mobilised six specialist Technical Consultants who precisely matched the Healthcare Trust’s technical, security and cultural requirements.

Every consultant was selected from Nebula’s global community of verified technology professionals, providing immediate access to proven expertise, industry certifications and real-world enterprise delivery experience.

Each consultant completed Nebula’s rigorous verification and onboarding process, including:

  • Technical competency assessment
  • Certification validation
  • Security clearance verification
  • Right-to-work and compliance checks

Alignment with the reseller’s delivery methodology and customer expectations

Rather than simply providing contractors, Nebula delivered a fully managed Resource-as-a-Service (RaaS) solution, enabling the reseller to extend its Professional Services capability with dedicated specialists who operated as an integrated extension of its own team.

Throughout the engagement, the reseller maintained complete ownership of customer relationship, governance, programme delivery and commercial accountability. Nebula ensured the continuous availability of highly skilled technical resource, providing the flexibility to scale specialist capability in line with project demands while reducing recruitment risk and operational burden.

The Outcome

The combination of the reseller’s cloud leadership and Nebula’s scalable resourcing model enabled the programme to mobilise rapidly and progress without the delays typically associated with traditional recruitment.

Key outcomes included:

  • Six dedicated cloud specialists deployed at speed
  • Rapid mobilisation against challenging customer deadlines
  • Immediate access to in-demand cloud expertise unavailable through internal recruitment channels
  • Reduced project risk and recruitment overhead
  • Seamless integration into an existing Professional Services organisation
  • Complete retention of customer ownership, governance and delivery control
  • Increased agility to meet evolving programme demands

The successful deployment evolved into a 12-month Resource-as-a-Service engagement, providing ongoing access to specialist cloud expertise and enabling the reseller to fulfil its customer commitments with confidence, speed and consistency.
