Distology’s latest vendor signing has added 100 customers this year and will enable its channel partners to help their customers get a grip on employees’ personal AI use, the VAD claimed.
Harmonic Security this morning announced it has signed the Stockport-based outfit as its exclusive distributor in the UK, Benelux and Dach.
In a statement, Distology CEO Hayley Roberts said she had been tracking the AI governance specialist for a “couple of years” as she hailed it as a “natural fit” for its vendor line-up.
It is Distology’s first vendor signing since it earlier this month welcomed on board ForeSight as its new private equity backer.
According to Harmonic, employees are using a growing number of AI tools, often before organisations have established the policies and controls needed to govern them.
Its own research has found that 64.5% of activity on personal AI accounts is business use.
Rather than taking a blanket approach to blocking AI, Harmonic claims to give security teams visibility into which AI tools employees are using, what they are using them for and what data is being shared with them. Its platform then enables organisations to put controls and guardrails around that activity without unnecessarily disrupting legitimate AI use.
“Natural fit”
Roberts characterised the signing as an “advisory opportunity” for its partners.
“Visibility into AI usage is a starting point, not a finished service, and the gap between the two is where partners can build something of their own,” she stated.
“We’ve been tracking Harmonic for a couple of years and have seen the business go from strength to strength. It’s a natural fit within our vendor taxonomy and brings real value to our partners and their customers. The significance of the deal goes well beyond adding another tool to the portfolio.”

Founded in 2023, Harmonic claims to have developed purpose-built small language models (SLMs) that analyse the context and intent behind AI interactions in real time, helping identify sensitive information and risky activity while allowing employees to continue working with approved tools.
Harmonic Security CEO Alastair Paterson hailed Distology as “the natural choice as our UK and European distribution partner”.
“Every organisation is scrambling to adopt AI securely, and they are looking to trusted partners to help them navigate that journey and do it properly,” he said.
“Harmonic Security provides them with the intelligence to understand how AI is being used across their business, alongside the controls they need to adopt and scale AI adoption with confidence.”
