Nebula Global Services hascome to the aid of a UK IT solutions partner whose food manufacturing client needed help strengthening its IT support across 13 countries.

Following an organisational restructure, changes to the client’s internal technology teams created gaps in local IT capabilities and technical resource availability.

Together, Nebula and its partner created a scalable managed field services model combining dedicated onsite engineers, 24×7 SLA-driven field support and centralised service management to maintain continuity across business-critical production facilities and corporate environments.

As explored here, here, here, here and here, Nebula has previously opened up on how it has delivered projects for a supermarket chain, a museum, a global maritime operator, a Liverpool school and a Healthcare Trust, in partnership with its channel partners.

Pete Murphy, Nebula Global Services

“For us, global reach only matters if it delivers a great experience locally,” said Nebula CSO Pete Murphy.

“This solution brings together dedicated engineers, responsive field support and centralised governance to give our partner and their customer one consistent service across 13 countries. It’s a great example of how Nebula turns multinational complexity into a simple, scalable managed service.”

You can read the full case study here.

The Challenge

The manufacturer operated an extensive network of production facilities and corporate offices across Europe. Following an organisational restructure, changes to its internal technology teams created gaps in local IT capabilities and technical resource availability.

Reliable IT infrastructure was critical within manufacturing environments, where access to responsive onsite expertise helped support operational continuity. At the same time, corporate locations required dependable end-user support to keep employees connected and productive.

With locations distributed across multiple countries, the organisation needed a managed services model capable of providing both dedicated engineering resources at strategically important sites and SLA-driven field support across its wider European estate.

What obstacles or complexities were involved?

The customer needed to address several challenges simultaneously:

  • Local IT skills gaps: Supplementing capabilities impacted by organisational change with access to infrastructure and end-user support expertise.
  • Production environment resilience: Providing dependable onsite technical support within business-critical manufacturing facilities.
  • End-user support: Ensuring employees across corporate and operational environments could access local technical assistance.
  • Dedicated expertise: Establishing a regular engineering presence at strategically important locations.
  • Multinational coverage: Providing SLA-driven onsite support across 13 countries and territories.
  • Operational consistency: Creating a standardised service model without the complexity of coordinating numerous local suppliers.

The customer therefore required more than access to individual engineering resources. It needed a managed services partner capable of bridging local skills gaps while taking responsibility for coordinating and governing service delivery across its multinational estate.

The Solution

What did Nebula deliver?

Nebula designed a tailored multinational Managed Field Services solution, combining dedicated engineering resources, infrastructure and end-user support, SLA-driven field services, 24×7 critical incident response and centralised service governance.

At three strategically important locations in Spain, France and Belgium, Nebula provides dedicated, named engineering resources, with each location receiving two scheduled engineering days every week.

Together, this provides 312 planned onsite engineering days annually, giving the customer predictable technical capacity and engineers who can develop knowledge of the local technology estate, users, operating procedures and business requirements.

Beyond these dedicated sites, Nebula provides SLA-driven field engineering support across 13 countries and territories through its established engineering network.

Qualified local resources can be coordinated to support infrastructure incidents, onsite troubleshooting, end-user requirements and planned technical activities against agreed service commitments.

For business-critical incidents requiring urgent onsite intervention, the solution also incorporates 24×7 critical field engineering response in accordance with agreed service levels.

Centralised service management underpins the entire service, providing a single framework through which Nebula coordinates engineering resources, scheduled visits, incidents, service requests, SLA governance and ongoing operational delivery.

Services delivered

  • Multinational Managed Field Services
  • Dedicated Onsite Engineering
  • Infrastructure Support
  • End-User IT Support
  • 24×7 Critical Incident Response
  • SLA-Driven Field Services
  • Local Engineering Resource Management
  • Centralised Service Management
  • Service Governance and Reporting
  • Multi-Country Support Coordination

What made Nebula’s approach different?

Nebula’s approach combines local technical expertise with multinational service management and accountability.

Rather than requiring the customer or its IT partner to coordinate different engineering suppliers across individual countries, Nebula provides a unified operating model covering both dedicated and on-demand technical resources.

The result is one managed service providing consistent governance, defined service levels and local engineering capability across the customer’s European estate.

Crucially, this enables the customer to retain access to onsite technical expertise where and when it is required without maintaining permanent specialist IT resources at every facility.

The Outcome

What value did we create?

The engagement established a scalable multinational Managed Services model that helps the customer maintain local technical support capability following organisational change.

By combining dedicated engineers at critical sites with SLA-driven support across the wider estate, the solution provides technical continuity, service accountability and flexible access to local expertise.

The centralised model also simplifies multinational service delivery by removing the requirement to coordinate numerous local engineering providers.

For production environments, this provides a structured route to onsite technical expertise when infrastructure support is required. For corporate environments, it maintains access to responsive end-user technology support.

How did it benefit the partner and their end customer?

For the UK IT solutions partner, Nebula provides the multinational delivery capability required to support its customer across 13 countries without the need to build and maintain its own engineering presence within each market.

For the food manufacturer, the solution creates a consistent and accountable support framework across production facilities and corporate offices, combining predictable engineering coverage at critical sites with flexible access to technical resources across the wider estate.

The Outlook

The Managed Field Services engagement establishes a scalable foundation capable of adapting as the customer’s organisation, technology estate and geographical requirements evolve.

Rather than replacing one set of local resources with another fragmented support structure, the model gives the customer and its IT partner access to a coordinated multinational engineering capability under a single managed service framework.

As requirements change, the model provides the flexibility to adjust local engineering resources and support coverage while retaining consistent service governance across the estate.

Strategic Impact

This engagement demonstrates how multinational organisations can address local IT capability gaps without adding unnecessary operational complexity.

By combining dedicated onsite resources, local engineering expertise, SLA-driven field services, 24×7 critical response and centralised service management, Nebula enables its channel partners to extend their Managed Services capabilities across borders while retaining one point of coordination and accountability.

Global capability. Local expertise. SLA-driven delivery. One accountable partner.

“For us, global reach only matters if it delivers a great experience locally. This solution brings together dedicated engineers, responsive field support and centralised governance to give our partner and their customer one consistent service across 13 countries. It’s a great example of how Nebula turns multinational complexity into a simple, scalable managed service,” stated Nebula Global Services CSO Pete Murphy.
