Ericsson-LG Enterprise partner EnableX Group has sold up to Gamma, in what is the third prominent instance of a distributor trade sale inside three months.
Ranking 36th in IT Channel Oxygen’s recent Top 45 Must-Know UK IT Distributors, EnableX turned over £15.5m in its fiscal 2022 (according to numbers it shared with us).
It comprises three channel businesses in the form of Ericsson-LG Enterprise distributor Pragma, Ribbon distributor Techland and Candio.
AIM-listed comms services supplier Gamma said the move will “significantly expand” its channel portfolio and provide “greater opportunities for our partners to accelerate their growth”.
It marks the third trade sale of a distributor either based in the UK or with a significant UK presence inside three months.
Following a lull in M&A activity in the sector, Dublin-based DataSolutions (whose £73m UK turnover saw it rank 19th in Oxygen’s 45 Top UK Must-Know Distributors), announced its sale to 17-ranked Climb in October.
Then just before Christmas, 9th-ranked Giacom snapped up fellow Microsoft cloud distributor, 24th-placed Inty, from US owner ScanSource.
In a canned statement, EnableX CEO Will Morey said: “We are excited to be part of the Gamma Group and it is clear how the portfolio we have fits into Gamma’s strategy for growth and leadership in the UCaaS space.
“Bringing these businesses together will help us both bring additional value to the channel.’’
Ericsson-LG Enterprise CEO Patrick Johansson was quick to pledge his allegiance to Gamma, meanwhile.
“Our journey in the UK market with the iPECS Unified Communications portfolio which includes iPECS Cloud has been a tremendous success and we are looking forward to continuing that success in partnership with Gamma,” he stated.
Gamma, which saw revenues rise 9% YoY to £256.2m in the first half of 2023, has not been shy of acquiring partner businesses of late, snapping up cyber-security provider Satisnet in August.
