For on-the-nose comments, Mike Norris is the gift that keeps giving.

Having reported on 13 spicy soundbites from all four panellists at Channel Chat Live earlier this month, IT Channel Oxygen now brings you nine additional mic-drop moments from the straight-talking Computacenter CEO.

If he’s not boasting about how the channel has “killed telcos”, he’s lording it over his US rivals for being California’s top VAR by sales.

But which comments really floored the audience at the capacity KX Arena? Here are his top nine mic-drop moments, in reverse order.

9. “We’re the largest VAR in California. I get a kick out of that”

Norris admitted he “loves giving it to the Yanks” as he talked about how Computacenter has built a £10bn business partly on the back of its US expansion.

“I just think that’s brilliant and we’ve managed to grow that business without a single pound of investment in this company since 1998,” he told host Marc Sumner and the 150 business owners and senior leaders in the audience.

“In that time we’ve distributed £1.2bn to shareholders and dividends and buybacks and bought back 40% of the company. We’ve acquired in North America and we’ve built warehouses and acquired the GE business that got us into Germany and France.”
