Three factors have combined to create a sovereign cloud “perfect storm” for the channel, Pulsant’s Direct of Partnerships and Ecosystems, Wendy Shearer, has claimed.

The changing geopolitical climate and new regulations such as DORA are forcing end users to think more carefully about the location of their data, Shearer explains in episode 3 of this special IT Channel Oxygen podcast.

The cost of public cloud is a third factor, she claimed.

“People are starting to really see the costs spiralling, so they’re thinking… actually it’s more about right place for the right workload,” she said.

“It’s a bit of a perfect storm; it’s not so much one thing but a combination of things.”

In the final episode, we’ll be asking Shearer about the health of the MSP market and where she sees the biggest MSP opportunities.
