A raft of IT services giants – as well as global VAR Insight – have made the cut for Gartner’s inaugural GenAI consulting quadrant.
In the report, Gartner predicted the global market for GenAI consulting and implementation services will swell from $7.4bn in 2024 to $127.5bn in 2028 as enterprise turn to GenAI to transform their industries.
But GenAI’s “immense potential” is “often tempered by significant practical business and technological challenges”, the analyst cautioned.
Global systems integrators Accenture, NTT Data and DXC Technology were among nine firms to make the cut for the top-right area of the quadrant.
The size and financial strength of these ‘Emerging Leaders’ enables them to “remain viable in a fast-moving and evolving market”, Gartner said.
Insight was among five outfits Gartner characterised as an ‘Emerging Visionary’ in GenAI consulting, with the market watcher branding a further eight companies as either ‘Emerging Challengers’ or ‘Emerging Specialists’.
The NASDAQ-listed VAR has recently begun styling itself as a ‘solutions integrator’ as it pushes deeper into services.

“Significant implementation hurdles remain”
Gartner defines GenAI consulting and implementation services as “the market focused on helping enterprises achieve tangible business results using tailored GenAI solutions”.
Its quadrant – which it plans to update once a quarter – features a mix of global consulting firms, technology-centric IT service providers and specialised providers focusing on market niches like AI talent, custom software development or domains.
Mandatory features comprise strategic consulting, solution design and implementation, data engineering, generative model operations and safe and trusted AI.
“Despite the promise of GenAI, significant implementation hurdles remain,” Gartner stated in the report, which is available to Gartner clients here.
“Enterprises almost always struggle with data readiness and poor data quality. Immature governance strategies and related tooling hinder effective GenAI deployment and management. Security and privacy remain major concerns, requiring specialised expertise to mitigate risks associated with client confidentiality, data sovereignty, IP protection, sensitive data and potential misuse.”
“We’re proud to be included in Gartner’s first Emerging Market Quadrant for Generative AI Consulting and Implementation Services,” Insight North America President Dee Burger said in a statement.
“It’s no longer a question of if businesses will use AI, but how they will overcome significant hurdles like unclear business value, escalating costs, and inadequate risk management. Our clients need trusted partners who can help them cut through the hype and guide them from pilot to production. We believe this recognition reflects our ability to deliver secure, ethical, high-performing GenAI solutions that drive real business value.”
