1. CCS Media acquired by Advania UK

Revenues of acquired company: £284m

Month announced: October

Rationale

Having purchased Servium in June, Advania UK acquired an even bigger reseller in October in the form of Chesterfield-based CCS Media.

The double swoop means Advania UK has more than made good on its pledge to acquire a large reseller capability that rivals its existing Microsoft-focused managed services business in size (its total revenues now exceed £450m).

“We talk about from a strategy point of view internally how we don’t want our clients to have to go anywhere else for their strategic technology needs,” Advania UK CEO Geoff Kneen told IT Channel Oxygen when the CCS Media deal closed.

“You’re never going to be 100% of the way there, but this takes us a huge step forward in that area.”

What happened next?

In December, Kneen picked out rolling Advania’s “deep service capability” to its enlarged customer base as a key priority for 2025.

“If we see stronger market conditions, now we can take the breadth of service offerings to 9,500 customers I think we have the opportunity for hyper-growth,” he said.
