Apple reseller Jigsaw24’s new MD is aiming to bite a bigger chunk out of the creative sector and instil more of a “performance culture”.

Following a six-year stint as COO, David Dudman has taken the reins of the £200m-revenue outfit, IT Channel Oxygen can reveal.

In tandem with Dudman’s appointment, founders Roger Whittle and John Hughes transition to non-executive director roles.

Talking exclusively to IT Channel Oxygen, Dudman said his “biggest single priority” is to “get the growth strategy right and make sure the business is aligned behind it”.

“We’ve been very focused on helping enterprises go on that Apple adoption journey, and while we’ve focused on that we haven’t put everything we should have into the creative space, which is our heritage,” Dudman said.

“We want to be less of a passive reseller and more someone that’s bringing thought leadership to the creative market. We’ll be looking at how we can become more of a solution partner in that space.”

Jigsaw24’s 2017 acquisition, ROOT6, will be pivotal to this strategy. It is “the biggest reseller of video technology into the UK broadcast and post-production market”, Dudman said.

“Where we’ll really benefit from that moving forward is the expanding use cases of video in the enterprise,” Dudman explained.

“Performance culture”

Ranking 18th in the recent Oxygen 250, Nottingham-based Jigsaw24 claims it is on course to turn over £200m this year.

Dudman said he is also seeking to embed his own culture at the Alcuin Capital-backed outfit.

“Roger has done a great job of creating a good environment to work in. A tangent I want to build on is more of a performance culture. I’m looking at how we accelerate that growth and how we embed that within the mindset of the employees.”

Dudman, who joined Jigsaw24 from BT in 2018, billed the company as “Roger’s baby”.

“He started this organisation and has very willingly, passionately and confidently asked me to take it on,” Dudman said.

“Roger and John have put a lot of trust in me since I joined and given me a lot of autonomy to build out capability and take the business to the next level.”
