3. George Lavender – “The acronyms were kind of like, ‘ooh’”

Episode 1 saw two young channel pros compare notes on how they have adjusted to life in the industry after joining from different professions.

Having joined Ampito from the world of teaching, George Lavender acknowledged it took time to get his head around the industry’s buzzwords and acronyms.

“It was ‘CPU’, ‘GPU’, ‘rack and stack’… and I was thinking, ‘what’s going on?’. I was used to ‘SLT’ and ‘HoDs’. I was going home trying to investigate and understand the best way to have a conversation, because the people you’re talking to have been doing it for 25 years,” he said.
