4. Sapphire

Acquirer: NTT Data Business Solutions

When: November

Deal size: Undisclosed, but Sapphire generated revenues of £66.9m in calendar 2022.

How it started:

NTT Data Business Solutions (part of NTT Data) acquired Sapphire to bolster its midmarket SAP and ServiceNow prowess.

It said the move will make it the “only SAP partner able to comprehensively and consistently serve enterprise and midmarket customers’ needs”.

“We are excited to leverage the potential Sapphire offers to our global customers, especially their ServiceNow partnership capabilities,” CEO Norbert Rotter added.

Based in The Shard, Sapphire is a midmarket-focused SAP, ServiceNow, Infor SunSystems, HxGN and AWS partner with 1,200 customers and 420 staff.

What happened next:

It’s been ‘business as usual’ since the deal was announced, with Sapphire launching a new AI Copilot for SAP Business One (courtesy of its vendor partner MyWave.AI) last month.

The announcement follows SAP’s launch of SAP Joule Generative AI Assistant in September, which Sapphire said is not expected to be available for on-premise ERPs such as Business One.

There were 3 bigger trade acquisitions this year. See next page for more…
