Q&A with IT Naturally CEO Julie Bishop

What was your main reason for becoming a B Corp?
About 18 months after we had launched, we were searching for something that reflected how we were already running IT Naturally. When we found B Corp, it just felt like a natural fit and we were certified in 2023.
IT Naturally was built after the collapse of Thomas Cook, and from day one we wanted to create an MSP that cared about people, delivered great work properly, and thought longer term about impact alongside our own growth.
B Corp is perhaps best associated with consumer goods brands. Does it really make sense for an MSP or IT solutions provider to have it?
Absolutely – because in every business there are people at the end of the IT.
There’s a big conversation around technology being part of the sustainability problem, so our view is that the IT sector also needs to be part of the solution.
As an MSP, we help customers make decisions around infrastructure, hardware, cloud and lifecycle management every day. Those choices affect energy use, waste and resilience.
Our B Corp certification shows that you can deliver high-performing IT while still operating responsibly.
What’s the main benefit of becoming a B Corp
One of the biggest benefits is being part of a community of like-minded businesses that genuinely want business to be a force for good.
We’ve joined forces with other B Corp MSPs through a B IT Group to help more organisations understand the role technology can play in building better, more responsible businesses.
It’s also helped sharpen our own decision making. Whether we’re looking at suppliers, employee initiatives, customer relationships or sustainability goals, it gives us a clear benchmark for the kind of business we want to be.
