3. Hyperscaler marketplaces go mainstream

Presidio’s announcement in April that it has sold $1bn via AWS Marketplace shows just how quickly channel dynamics are shifting in the cloud and AI era.
IT Channel Oxygen earlier this month counted down nine ISVs that have transacted ten-figures through the largest of the three main hyperscaler marketplaces (with some having now done this inside a calendar year).
US-based Presidio became the first channel partner to publicly announced it has achieved the same feat.
Bolstered by the need among customers to burn down committed cloud spend, enterprise software sales via hyperscaler marketplaces are set to boom from $16bn to $163bn by 2030, according to Omdia’s latest figures.
Channel partners will pocket 59% of that spend by the same year, it claimed.
In a LinkedIn post, Omdia Chief Analyst Jay McBain dubbed Presidio’s announcement “remarkable”.
He predicted that “dozens of other partner services companies” may go public on breaking ten figures on AWS Marketplace “in the coming months”.
“We are progressing through the largest route to market change in the 44-year history of the resell channel and distribution,” McBain wrote.
